Board of Commissioners

The Great Neck Park District Board of Commissioners consists of three elected officials. Their mission is to provide parks, preserve open space and protect the natural environment.
The Board's business meetings are normally held the 4th Wednesday or Thursday of each month, 8 p.m., at our Administration Building, 5 Beach Rd.
Weekly work sessions are normally held on weekday mornings.
All meetings are open to the public and attendance is encouraged.

There are three Park Commissioners, each elected for a term of three years. One Commissioner is up for election each year, on a revolving system.

The responsibilities of the Commissioners include:
  • Setting policy
  • Setting the annual budget
  • Approving capital expenditures/contracts
  • Responding to concerns of residents through transparency and communication
  • Approve programs/events
  • Oversee the general business of the Park District
  • Insure compliance with OSHA and other governmental organizations
  • Insure cost effective services
Commissioner Frank Cilluffo
COMMISSIONER FRANK S. CILLUFFO, CHAIRPERSON
Long-time Great Neck resident, Frank Cilluffo, is a retired New York City police officer. In addition to holding the title of Commissioner, he coaches our hockey programs (including those for disabled youths). He also serves on the Great Neck Park District’s Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink advisory committee. His focus is on park safety, valuable sports programs, senior/retiree events, bike-path development, garden clubs and green-space revitalization. His priority is improving the safety and security at all Great Neck parks and facilities, 24-hours a day.

COMMISSIONER TINA M. STELLATO,       TREASURER
Commissioner Stellato has worked for the Great Neck Park District for 17 years as a tennis pro and programmer at the Parkwood Tennis Center. She received a full tennis scholarship at St. John's University and graduated in 1998 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. With her expertise and knowledge about the Park District she is looking forward to developing programs for children of all-abilities, creating more educational/sports programs and revitalizing the southern parks in the district.

Vanessa Tamari
 COMMISSIONER VANESSA TAMARI, SECRETARY

Commissioner Tamari, a Park District resident for more than 25 years, has been a volunteer throughout the community, serving as co-president of the Great Neck North Middle School PTO from 2019-21 and as a parent representative on the school district’s Shared Decision Making Committee. Professionally, Commissioner Tamari is an insurance attorney, practicing for over a decade.
