Nature Programs

Our adult nature programs are approximately one and two hours long. Advanced registration is required. These programs are for adults only; children under 16 years of age are not permitted to attend. Events usually involve some time outdoors and are held rain or shine, so dress accordingly. Register online or call 516 482-0355. Directions for trips outside the Park District will be mailed upon request.

INTRODUCTION TO WILDERNESS SURVIVAL
Saturday, April 11, 11 a.m.
Kings Point Park, Steamboat Road entrance.
You can survive on your own at Kings Point Park. In this hands on program, geared for the average adult, you will learn how to find food, start a fire and build a shelter. Meet in first lot. Register by 4/4.

Coffin Woods, Locust Valley.
Come and enjoy a relaxing saunter in this tranquil private preserve. Request directions, if necessary. Bring binoculars. Register by 4/19.


SPRING AT SHU SWAMP

Shu Swamp Nature Preserve, Mill Neck
Take an enchanted stroll through this little-known private preserve. Request directions, if necessary and allow for extra travel time. Register by 5/2.
