Allows access to the pool five (5) times throughout the summer. Pass is per-person, each person in a household would have to have their own pass. No guests allowed with this pass. One time purchase only.

Refund Policy
• There are NO REFUNDS, FOR ANY POOL MEMBERSHIP, AFTER OPENING DAY. Any refund request made prior to opening day of the pool is subject to a $50 processing fee.
Park Cards
• Each pool member, age one year and over, MUST PRESENT A VALID POOL/PARK CARD EACH AND EVERY time he/she goes through the pool entrance. Park cards are issued to one person only. Members cannot use another member’s card for admission, even in the same family. Park cards, and replacements, are available at the Parkwood Pool, Great Neck House, and Parkwood Tennis Center.
• Pool/Park members can have their membership looked up once during the season so remember to bring your park card. A guest fee will be charged for all subsequent park card lookups. There will be no lookups for children under 16 years of age without a parent present at time of entry.
Guests Policy
• All members are responsible for their guest(s) and the behavior of their guest(s).
• Guests must enter with the pool membership holder. A guest arrival book will be kept in the cashier’s office for a guest arriving AFTER a member has entered for the day. Members must be present at the time of a guest arrival/entry. The arrival book will only expedite processing of guest fees. The member must leave their park card when signing in a guest. Park cards may be retrieved upon exit. If the guest has not yet arrived their name will be removed from the sign in book. Members must be at least 16 to bring in a guest.
Pool Closure Policy I.e. Weather
• All pools, deck areas and shower areas will immediately close to the public when there is an approaching electrical storm. In the event of such inclement weather the pools, deck areas and showers will be cleared right away. The pools, deck areas and showers will remain closed for 30 minutes after the last visible strike of lightning or sound of thunder. NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS OF ENTRY FEES IF THE FACILITY CLOSES.
Private Swim Instruction
• All group and private swimming lessons are conducted by the Park District personnel only, no outside instruction is permitted
Food/Beverage Policy
• The District reserves the right to inspect the bags of each member or guest upon entry and when on the pool deck.
• Absolutely no food, beverages, or snacks will be permitted on the pool deck. All food, meals, and other beverages must be eaten at the designated snack bar area only; i.e. pizza, ice cream, etc…
• As per management discretion, light snacks; i.e. fruit and small snacks contained in a small container or small Ziploc bag will be allowed to be eaten at your lounge chair away from the pool. Please keep your area cleaned with respect to your fellow patrons.
• Only water be permitted on the pool deck, and at your lounge chair. Absolutely no glass bottles, soda, coffee, or any other drinks will be permitted.
• All coolers and food containers must be checked in the cooler check-in area. NO FOOD, EITHER IN OR OUT OF A COOLER, IS PERMITTED ON THE POOL DECK.
General Pool Rules / Health & Safety
• All swimmers are requested to take a shower with soap and water before entering any of our pools.
• Persons having skin lesions, inflamed eyes, mouth, nose or ear discharge or having any type of bandage or adhesive tape on body shall not be permitted to use the pools.
• People with health problems and people using alcohol, narcotics or other drugs, including medical marijuana, that may cause drowsiness should not use the pool(s) without consulting a doctor first.
Main Pool Use
• All children using the main pool must be toilet trained. CHILDREN WEARING DIAPERS/SWIM DIAPERS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE MAIN POOL. Any child who is not able to stand, without assistance with his/her head above water, at the shallow end of the pool, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. NO FLOTATION DEVICES ARE PERMITTED IN THE MAIN POOL.
• Management reserves the right to designate an “Adult’s only” section in the Main Pool at any point during the day. Children will only be permitted in the far shallow section during those designated times. All designated times will be communicated to you by our Management and Staff.
Proper Bathing Attire
• Proper bathing attire is required at all times for anyone using any pool. Bathing skirts and bathing trunks must be made of a bathing suit material and have a lining. Only aquatic shirts may be worn in the pools. No t-shirts are permitted to be worn. For sanitary reasons no undergarments are permitted to be worn in any pool, with the exception of swim diapers where permitted.
Prohibited Items/Activities
• The following items and activities are strictly prohibited in the pool complex: water guns, ball playing, Frisbee throwing, roller skating, skateboarding, hoverboards, dressing or disrobing, (including children) outside the locker rooms, play equipment, glass bottles, glass containers or any glassware, alcoholic beverages, SMOKING (including e-cigarettes), dogs or any other animals, with the exception of identifiable service animals, solicitations, gum chewing, advertising or sale of merchandise, distribution of any material (not sponsored by the Park District), and use of a drone.
• The following items are strictly prohibited in all pools: electronic devices including phones and e-readers, inflatable floatation devices, swim fins, snorkels and masks. (A “mask” is considered to be something that covers the eyes and nose.) Adults may use certain swimming aids in the lap lanes only. Pool office personnel will let you know whether or not your swimming aid is permitted.
Approved Life Jackets
• Coast Guard approved life jackets will be permitted in the kiddie pool, intermediate pool, interactive water feature, and the lazy river with the following requirements:
o Vest must have a readable Coast Guard rated label on it.
o Vest must be clean and preferably reserved for pool usage.
o Vest must be properly sized and in proper working order.
General Pool Rules
• NEW: USE OF PROFANITY, VERBAL THREATS, OR ANY ACTS OF VIOLENCE AGAINTS EMPLOYEES, OR OTHER PATRONS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON THE POOL DECK OR ANYWHERE ON PARK DISTRICT PROPERTY. "We are here to help you, and Staff have the right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times without the risk of threatening behavior or violence. This behavior will not be tolerated towards our staff and may result in offenders being asked to leave."
The Aquatics Director/Pool Managers, in the interest of public safety, may decide hours when the pool will be open and closed. The District reserves the right to close any section(s), pool(s) and/or the entire pool complex at any time.
• Lounging or waiting is not permitted on any means of entrance or exit leading to or from any pool.
• Sitting on the side of any pool or section of any pool that is currently closed is prohibited.
• No outside chairs or lounges are permitted in the pool area.
• Non-gun shaped water sprayers will be permitted in the kiddie pool only.
• NO running, pushing, horseplay or boisterous conduct is allowed anywhere in the pool complex.
• Electronic devices are permitted only in the eating areas or at the lounge chairs.
• Cell phones and/or cameras are strictly prohibited in any of the facility’s locker rooms, bathrooms and/or dressing rooms.
• Lifeguards and staff will discipline patrons who cannot follow rules up to or including revoking park privileges.
• The Park District cannot be held responsible for loss or theft of any personal belongings.
• Areas of the complex may be closed to accommodate swimming lessons, Park District activities and special events. This includes GNPD programs such as Camp Parkwood and Half-Day Swim Camp.
• Parkwood Sports Complex is a Smoke Free complex including electronic cigarettes.
• Only audio/video devices with earphones are permitted.
• No diaper changing is allowed on the pool deck area including the lounge chairs. Bathrooms or locker rooms are to be used when changing a child’s diaper. All bathrooms are equipped with changing platforms.
• All refuse must be deposited in the designated receptacles. Diapers may only be disposed of in locker room receptacles.
• The announced and published closing times are for the pool complex, not the individual pools. Please plan your requirements for leaving accordingly.
• All exercise equipment MUST be returned to the correct storage area when you are finished with it. Park passes are required for all equipment requested from the aquatic activity/lifeguard office. Exercise equipment located on the pool deck is reserved for swim classes and teams and is not for use other than with classes, lesson, or team activities
• Children under the age of twelve must be accompanied by a family member age 16 or older who shall assume full responsibility for their safety and conduct. Children under the age of 16 must leave the pool area by 6 p.m. unless accompanied by an adult over the age of 21 who shall remain with the children in their immediate vicinity. Children five years of age and older must use gender appropriate bathrooms or the family changing rooms.
Rules for The Main and Intermediate Pools
• Diving is permitted only in the diving area.
• The lane area, from 5 to 7 p.m. daily, will have four lanes dedicated for swim team practice.
• See lane area for additional rules and information.
• The intermediate pool is for children ages eight and under. An adult must accompany children unable to stand in the water alone. Non-toilet trained children must wear a swim diaper and a bathing suit, only in the intermediate pool, not in the main pool.
• No toys are allowed in the main pool or intermediate pool.
Rules for the Diving Area
• See diving area for additional rules and information.
• Diving is at your own risk.
• People who use the diving boards must be able to swim unassisted in deep water to the ladder.
• Catching divers is not permissible.
• Only one person is allowed on the diving apparatus at a time.
• Divers must dive straight from the front end of the board.
• Divers may not spring (jump) more than once on the board.
• Divers may not adjust the fulcrum.
• Divers must wait until the preceding diver has surfaced and reached the ladder before entering the water.
• Upon surfacing divers must immediately swim to the nearest ladder.
• NO ONE is ever permitted to swim under a diving board.
• There is no general swimming permitted in the diving area.
• Divers may not wear goggles when using the diving boards.
Rules for Water Slide
• Sliding is at your own risk.
• Follow all instructions of the lifeguards and attendants.
• All riders should be wet before using the slide.
• Enter and exit only at designated areas.
• Minimum height is 48 inches. Minimum weight is 60 pounds. Maximum weight is 280 pounds.
• Riders must wait for the lifeguard’s start signal before sliding.
• One rider at a time.
• Remove all goggles and any eyewear.
• Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation is not permitted.
• Wearing any bracelet, watch or other jewelry is prohibited.
• Feet first sliding only.
• No kneeling, standing, rotating or stopping in the slide.
• Diving or flipping while exiting the slide is prohibited.
• Catching sliders is not permissible.
• Exit slide recovery area immediately.
• No waiting on the steps.
• For safety reasons, women who are pregnant, persons with heart conditions or back/neck problems should not ride the slide.
Rules for Interactive Water Feature (IWF)
• Children under the age of ten shall have adult supervision.
• No toys are allowed in the IWF area.
• No sharp objects are permitted.
• No running into the pool or on the decks in the IWF areas.
• No rough-housing.
• Absolutely NO DIVING.
• No changing of diapers is allowed. Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper and a bathing suit.
Rules for Kiddie Pool
• All children must be under adult supervision at all times.
• All rules and regulations governing pools apply.
• Toys are allowed in the Kiddie Pool area. (No Water Shooters)
• No sharp objects are permitted.
• No running into the pool or on the deck areas.
• No rough-housing.
• Absolutely NO DIVING.
• No changing of diapers is allowed.
• Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper and a bathing suit.
Rules for Lazy River
• Enter and exit the lazy river only at designated areas.
• There is NO lounging in the entrance or exit area.
• In order to use the lazy river on his/her own a child must be four years of age and able to stand with his/her head above water without assistance or must be accompanied by an adult guardian at all times.
• No changing of diapers is allowed.
• Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper and a bathing suit.
• Always use caution and follow staff directives.
• Only one floater per single tube, two floaters per double tube.
• No climbing, sitting, standing or walking on the walls in the lazy river.
• No jumping or diving into the lazy river.
• Only tubes supplied by the Park District may be used. No other floatation devices of any kind will be permitted.
• No diving, swimming or underwater swimming. No horseplay or flipping of tubes.
• Floaters must remain in tubes at all times.
• A Maximum of two tubes may be coupled together.
• No standing on tubes or stacking tubes.
• Floaters must follow the direction of the current at all times.
• Do no block the progress of other users.
• Do not reduce the speed of or stop any tube on the river.
• The Park District reserves the right to close the lazy river at any time.
Lazy River Walking Information
• The lazy river will be open to patrons wishing to walk against the current for exercise during the times posted at the pool. No tubes will be permitted in the lazy river at those times.
• All walkers should walk against the flow of the current.
• All walkers must continuously walk while in the pool, hanging on the walls and stopping is not permitted.
• Walkers shall be at least 16 years of age.
*These rules and regulations are primarily for your safety and your enjoyment of our facilities. Not adhering to these rules could result in ejection from the pool and/or recreation center. Any rules not listed are at the Pool Manager’s discretion.
