Our New York Rangers Learn-to-Play 2020-2021 hockey season has what you are looking for!

We are still finalizing our hockey options for the season so please stay tuned for more information regarding the Bruins Travel Program and the Bruins Development Program.

New York Rangers Learn-to-Play Program

All instruction is provided by the NYR Hockey Development team, partnered with Great Neck Park District coaching staff.

This is a 10-week introductory level co-ed hockey program which caters to players ages 5-10. A max capacity of 25 participants is permitted for each session and space is limited, so it is important to register now!

Learning to play hockey is more than just learning a game. More than skating, passing and stick-handling, hockey is about responsibility, respect and teamwork.  Learn to Play on-ice instruction plans have been developed in collaboration with experts from USA Hockey and Hockey Canada and taught by certified instructors and led by National Hockey League Alumni.

The program fee is a low $250 which includes head-to-toe equipment, for your child to keep!  (However, there is a participation fee associated with the program which offsets ice and coaching expenses).

Choose Sunday, 9-10 a.m. OR 10:30-11:30 a.m. (two options- you can only register for one).

Registration is through the Rangers website - CLICK HERE.

Some of our policies regarding COVID are listed below, although we are still firming up all the details for a safe and enjoyable program for everyone.

A waiver will be forwarded upon registration.

  • No spectators permitted
  • Social Distancing is MANDATORY
  • Designated drop-off/pick-up locations
  • No locker rooms, so come dressed and ready to get on the ice!

We look forward to a great season!

Bruins Development Program

Our mid-level Bruins Development Hockey program (ages 5 to 12) prepares players for the next level of competition. Following USA Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM), our coaching staff organizes station-based practices to increase puck touches and overall on-ice activity. This two-day a week program features one day for practice, and another day dedicated to small sided, cross-ice games.

Bruins Travel Program

Our competitive Bruins Travel program caters to players ages 5 -18. Tryout for the travel program and participate in the Long Island Amateur Hockey League in the Tier III division. The primary goal is for each hockey player to realize their full potential by fostering competitiveness and sportsmanship. We focus on promoting the fun of the game, while developing hockey skills.

There are two training sessions weekly, prepared by our coaching staff, with anywhere from 25-40 games throughout the season.
