Janelle at the Olympics representing Jamaica!

Meet our new Aquatics Supervisor!

Janelle Atkinson

Coach Janelle was a two-time Olympian representing Jamaica! She was a finalist in the Sydney 2000 Games and competed in 2004 in Athens! Dubbed the US National High School “Swimmer of the Year,” Coach Janelle went on to compete for the University of Florida where she became a 3x SEC Conference Champion and a 10x All-American Student-Athlete. With 12 years of collegiate coaching experience at Division 1, Coach Janelle comes with a vast knowledge of the sport.

Additionally, she has run her own summer swim camps for competitive swimming. Coach Janelle is passionate about water safety, particularly in her on-going role as Caribbean Chair for the International Water Safety Day Committee. In this capacity, she educates school-aged children about how to keep themselves and their family safe around water.

Her success as an international athlete and her extensive coaching experience make Coach Janelle very well equipped to teach, encourage, and motivate your child to achieve. Whether your child just wants to get comfortable in the water or has dreams for Olympic greatness, Camp Parkwood has you covered!
