The third Friday in July has officially been proclaimed as 'Park and Recreation Professionals Day' by the New York State Recreation & Park Society!
This year has proved most challenging with the COVID-19 pandemic but the Great Neck Park District has far exceeded the call of duty during it all. We have been able to reopen in phases while maintaining park activities carefully - safely mitigating the spread of the COVID-19 virus, according to New York State protocols.
Let’s give a big hand today, to all of our Great Neck Park District employees, who have gone the extra mile to meet the day-to-day demands of keeping our parks accessible. They have helped provide the community with access to our beautiful parks and available recreational activities in the safest way possible during these difficult times.
And to all who visit our parks and facilities-the next time you see a Great Neck Park District employee, please give a big thank you in recognition of ’Park and Recreation Professionals Day’ today ... and everyday!
