It's Thanksgiving and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve you safely during this challenging time. Our parks have been used more than ever and we understand the essential role parks & recreation play...
...for the social, mental and physical wellbeing of the residents we serve.
As we head into the Thanksgiving break, we are doing our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to be proactive with our policies and program modifications during this public health crisis. As Great Neck was recently designated as a “yellow zone” by New York State, we have implemented the following guidelines that will take effect November 25, 2020:
- No park permits will be issued at this time.
- Group gatherings may not exceed 15 residents.
- Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink will be lowered to a maximum of 25 patrons per program/reservation time.
In addition, we will continue to adhere to the guidelines set by the DOH in regard to Guidance for Sports and Recreation during COVID-19.
We encourage our residents to continue to use our parks and play safe. Please engage in responsible recreation, respect all patrons, wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times. Only together we can make our parks and community safe.
On behalf of our Board of Commissioners and Park District staff, we wish all of our residents and patrons a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
Be smart and play safe,
Jason R. Marra
